BOXING CLEVER

Over 300 people converged on the Ballybrakes Business Pk on Friday, 10th November,  specifically to the Boxing NI gym, to watch 13 bouts of ‘white collar boxing’. Each bout showcased local people with little or no boxing experience, but who had dedicated 4 nights per week for 8 weeks, to be trained in the intricate skills of the sport by a team of qualified coaches. As well as gate receipts, each boxer raised substantial funds themselves, through sponsorship and there was also an excellent raffle on the night.

Organiser and owner of Boxing NI, Mervyn Espire was ‘shocked’ at how well everyone adapted to the very special demands of boxing.

Codie Murray, Alan Martin, Mervyn and all the boxers, trainers, judges and referee are to be congratulated…and thanked sincerely….for their commitment and for raising over £7,000 at the event, which will basically fund the Lapland trip of a lifetime for up to 10 deserving children.

It never ceases to amaze us what people will do to help our Charity.

Thanks, guys.
