RIP SAM PAIVIKE

by | Mar 3, 2022 | News | 0 comments

We have been shocked to learn of the sudden death of Sami Paivike, our key contact in Lapland since the Charity began.

Indeed, when the Charity was still in its embryonic stage, it was Sami who was our resident Lapland expert, visiting the various potential sites with our founder, Jack Rodgers and our General Manager, Fiona Williamson, informing and advising our early steps and decisions.

In the 14 years since, he has been an invaluable ever present asset on the ground, always on hand during our trips to make sure everything went like clockwork.

His company, Wild Nordic, was involved in everything, from transfer between the airport and the resort, to bringing in reindeer, huskies and skidoos specifically for our group.

Our deepest sympathy goes to his family and his colleagues…he will be sadly missed.
